We’re off to new shoots in the studio!
What kind of looks can’t you wait to see?
Bright and lovely? Dramatic?
This burlesque shoot was so much fun, and a great example of turning a bad shoot into a good one!
This shoot was actually supposed to be two looks in one, but the makeup didn’t come out as expected.
Instead of calling it a day, I threw on some sequined lingerie and a new wig to give it another try!
So, if something doesn’t go to plan, and things don’t always do so, put something else together and play a little!
A melancholic witch with flowers, dressed in a shadow of black lace.
Wonderful props and costumes can be found everywhere. Treat yourself to flowers from the market, look for clothes with multiple potential uses.
This lace top is actually a blouse worn backwards. The backdrop is a scrap of thrifted fabric that was coffee stained and textured with instant coffee.
Let’s find what we can and Make It Work.
Love that witch aesthetic and spiritual life.
A witchy life is sometimes simple, sometimes complicated, and sometimes not pretty at all.
As with art and craft, we have to find balance in our life and make time for our work. What are you working on better incorporating into your life?
However, staged or not, full-time or not, I love that mysterious, magical aesthetic.
What about you?
Dark, tumbling blue hair and fairy blouses with lace trim?
What are some of your favorite costumes and pieces in the studio? What styles can’t you get enough of when you go out shopping for yourself and models?
Throwback to when the studio still had a surplus of white lace!
Not everything is our color or style, but it can be good to keep a good variety of clothes, lingerie, and costumes in the studio to try out different looks.
What’s your favorite off-brand find in your closet?
After a photoshoot, hang onto all the photos, and go over the shoot again months later. You’ll see them with fresh eyes, maybe see a new direction to take the images.
When something doesn’t align with the shoot’s theme, hang onto it for later, and reinterpret the theme.
Patience. Sit. Wait.
How long do you keep the original images from your photoshoots? Do you find you see things with a new light?
A time comes when we must step into our own. We must become a Queen we’re meant to be and forge our own futures…
What kind of future are you fighting for? What are you searching for in the darkness?
We’re off to new work in the studio! New portraits, costumes and shoots are being created and planned, what are you hoping to see?
